10 acts of love that work - romance is an act of love (312 hits)

FOX 26 News | MyFoxHouston
Love is a verb, and when love is put into action it becomes romance. Romance is fun and exciting, so why don't we do it more? Why is it one of the first things we quit doing after marriage? Why is it one of the things couples complain about the lack of most? Romance allows us to escape. We are taken into a place where we feel special, loved, appreciated and needed. Everything about romance is healthy, and relationships get boring when it's gone. So when is the last time you romanced your partner?

For most of us the idea of adding romance to our relationship is intimidating. How can we possibly make it as good as what is seen on movies or the internet? In truth…those aren't real romances, because romance is what you are, and therefore, it must be shown in your way. You have everything you need to be romantic because romance is a state of mind, not a performance. The toughest thing about being romantic is you can't out-think it. You have to follow your heart, and the majority of people aren't comfortable doing this. Below I have a few romantic suggestions. None of these things are guaranteed to add more s*x to your relationship. However, they are guaranteed to draw you closer to your partner, which is a step in the right direction.

*The most romantic thing for your partner is not only the action, but the fact that you listened to your heart and didn't let your head out-think it. Taking the time and following through with the action that your affection for your partner prompted is extremely romantic.

1. Making your partner breakfast in bed or dinner at night are both acts of love. They are also romantic in helping your partner feel cherished and loved.

2. Take your love out to lunch, and clear your schedule a bit longer so you can stop by a flower shop or sit in a park for extra time to sit close and be attentive without talking about the kids.

3. Booking a hotel room on the weekend is uber-romantic, especially if it is a nice room and your partner feels pampered. People are more amorous when they are in a new setting.

4. Coming home from work and taking the time to hug or kiss is very romantic….save the normal complaints about work or co-workers for another time.

5. Put notes in your partner's briefcase, lunchbox, handbag, man bag or wherever. Little things like this can be shared with co-workers, which for women especially is a VERY BIG DEAL.
