Couples must layout their expectations, especially before marriage.
Many people will say that Men and Women play specific roles. We were designed
differently for reasons. While we are often forced to adapt our role to our circumstance,
often times we have a choice in the matter.
Here are a few questions that can help define your role in a relationship:
-Who is expected to do the courting?
Some say men are wired to court. If a man can not court his woman what else is he supposed
to do? A woman is usually expected to respond to the signals sent out from her man.
-As a man do you want your woman to romance you or would you prefer to be the only one
wooing your Boo?
If the answer is yes, make sure you share how you like to be romanced? Most guys don't enjoy receiving flowers like women do.
-Who will be responsible for paying each bill?
-Does the man have the last word when making important decisions?
-Do you expect the woman to always cook and do the dishes or will you exhibit team work in the
kitchen?
-Does your man get to sit and watch the football game while you cook Thanksgiving dinner?
-Who will discipline the kids?
Another issue that often causes strife is wardrobe. If a woman is dressed too s*xy
it can cause a lot of unwanted attention. It can make or break a date, especially if
the man feels like he is her security guard trying to fight off hounds. The boundaries should
be set early on in the relationship so there is no confusion as to what will upset your man.
-Does your man want you to initiate s*x sometimes or does he always want to lead in the
bedroom?
-Does your wife expect you to accompany her to those after 5 functions?
-Is the man responsible for always leading prayer?
-Who is expected to wash the car?
-If you have a baby who's role is it to change diapers?
What's your role? To know what your mate needs and wants of you is half the battle.
If you know your man likes to lift those shopping bags to ease your load let him. He
doesn't work out for nothing. And if your woman wants to birth 5 kids for you, let her.
She didn't get blessed with a womb for no reason.
Communicate and relate.
