We are proud to announce that Premier Art has partnered with Zucot Gallery, The National Black Arts Festival, and The Tom Joyner Foundation for a very special exhibition next month in Atlanta, GA. The event will celebrate the work of our talented roster of artists and a portion of the art sales will be donated to The Tom Joyner Foundation. The opening for the exhibition will be Friday, July 15, 2011, so save the date! Invitations and more details to follow in the coming weeks.
Special 'Art Tasting' @ Straits Restaurant
In preparation for the exhibition, we are hosting a public 'Art Tasting' at Straits Restaurant on Saturday, July 9, 2011 at 3pm. If you are a novice or a seasoned collector, the 'Art Tasting' will provide insight on the various aspects of the art realm to get you prepared for a meaningful experience at the exhibit. Artist Aaron F. Henderson will discuss materials used in creating pieces as well as help demystify the collecting process in a fun and interesting way. Alfred is a narrative artist whose works are often inspired by humanity and social issues.
NARRATIVE:
Glue is a painting about the importance of God and family in one's life. In the background, symbols are repetitively patterned to drive home the importance of the image in the foreground. The magnets are symbolic of the emotions and experiences that keep us together. The infinity symbols represent the eternal love and grace that God bestows upon us all.
The foreground is simply a representational symbol of what "glue" means to me. A father sits at a table with his two sons for breakfast. The folding chairs and table reflect that they don't have much money but the fact they are in prayer, together, before they start their day represents their wealth of faith and love. This is strong glue y'all. - Alfred Conteh

If in Atlanta, selected works can be seen weekly at Strait's[ATL] on Wednesday evenings. Premier Art has partnered with owner, Grammy Award Winner Chris "Ludacris" Bridges to create The Art of Wine and Dine event.
