I feel that this is a necessary subject to discuss as it relates to the dating world. Many times we search all our lives for people or things that we feel complete us. We escape from one thing to another not fully understanding the leaps we are taking. The truth of the matter is that nothing can complete you except for you.
We often say that we are looking for that perfect person that completes us. We get this individual and put an enormous amount of pressure on this individual to make us happy because they are supposed to complete us. We only find that we end up forcing that individual out of our lives and the void is never filled. Then we think that a child can provide that happiness, but that just creates another responsibility that is not so easy to get rid of. Then we say if I had more money. We get the money and more issues are created. We as human beings continue this viscous cycle because the person that you aspire to marry, the success you aspire to obtain or the children that you have will never be able to complete you. Whatever voids exist in our lives, exist because we still have not figured out who we are and how to make ourselves happy.
Until we understand who we are as individuals, we will never understand what it means to be complete. When two people meet, they are supposed to complement each other, not complete each other. When you get married, you need two whole people to make one whole person. The two shall become one. Your purpose, unconditional love and meaning of your life can only be defined by you and satisfied by you. Your life is a puzzle. Nobody or nothing can complete the puzzle, except for you. We often try to make many other pieces fit, only to find out that we have wasted time and energy on the wrong the pieces when then entire time we had access to the correct piece. Learn to fall in love with who you are even if you have not obtained all that you aspire. When you fall in love with who you are, your spouses, children, lovers, friends and partners will only make your journey that much richer. They will be there to build on the confidence you already possess.
