<span style="font-family: Arial"><h2 style="text-align: center">Driver - Facilities & Services</h2><h3 style="text-align: center">Facilities &amp; Services</h3><br><h4>Job Summary</h4>Employees in positions allocated to this series are responsible for moving and transporting people, equipment, supplies, furniture, materials, rubbish, mail, and freight with a gross vehicle weight capacity of less than 26,001 pounds, and people (up to 15 persons). Their activities include physically lifting and moving supplies, equipment, etc.; driving vehicles; and may involve manual unskilled labor.<h4>Duties & Responsibilities</h4><ul><li>Under the direction of the Automotive Transportation management transport personnel, supplies and equipment for Facilities & Services and designated customers.</li><li>Loads, secures, hauls, and delivers equipment, supplies, furniture, materials, refuse, rubbish, recycling, parcels, and freight, with a gross vehicle weight capacity of less than 26,001 pounds as directed by supervision.</li><li>Checks vehicle for general condition (such as tire inflation, oil, water level, etc.); may perform minor repair work on vehicle and keeps appropriate records and paperwork.</li><li>May perform unskilled labor of a manual nature (as differentiated from skilled or mechanical work normally associated with the skilled trades) that does not conflict with local labor practice</li><li>Performs snow removal work</li><li>Performs other related duties as assigned</li></ul><br><h4>Physical Demands</h4><li>Walking : Occasionally </li><li>Stairs : Occasionally </li><li>Sitting : Constantly </li><li>Lifting/Carrying : Frequently </li><li>Pushing/Pulling : Frequently </li><li>Climbing : Occasionally </li><li>Balancing : Occasionally </li><li>Bending/Stooping : Occasionally </li><li>Kneeling : Occasionally </li><li>Squatting/Crouching : Occasionally </li><br><h4>Working Conditions</h4><li>Extreme cold : Occasionally </li><li>Extreme heat : Occasionally </li><li>Humidity : Occasionally </li><li>Wet : Occasionally </li><li>Noise : Occasionally </li><li>Hazards : Occasionally </li><li>Fumes/Particles/Allergens : Occasionally </li><li>Toxic, Caustic Chemicals : Occasionally </li><li>Temperature Changes : Occasionally </li><li>Inclement Weather : Occasionally </li><br><h4>Additional Physical Demands</h4>1. Ability to work in conditions such as heat, cold, rain and snow<br><h4>Minimum Qualifications</h4><p>1. High school diploma or equivalent.<br>2. Valid current driver’s license as required by the State of Illinois.</p><p><strong>Possession of a Class B CDL Driver’s License at the timeof hire.</strong></p><h4>Knowledge, Skills and Abilities</h4><ul><li>Must have a thorough knowledge of applicable traffic laws; locations, names and addresses of University buildings; names and locations of University streets and the most efficient routes among points on campus. Must be proficient at safely securing supplies, equipment, furniture and rubbish.</li><li>Thorough understanding of University and F&amp;S vehicle policies, F&amp;S policies and procedures, including filing of accident reports and immediately reporting problems to the immediate supervisor.</li><li>A basic understanding and ability to use computers, tablets and other electronic devices.</li><li>Skill in operating auxiliary equipment (such as tail gate lifts, snow plows, or refuse equipment) and ability to proficiently operate various vehicle types within their current licensing classification.</li><li>Must have an elementary knowledge of auto mechanics and be able to fuel vehicles, check their fluid levels and add fluids as necessary, and detect and</li><li>report malfunctions/damage of vehicles and their systems.</li><li>Ability to safely perform heavy lifting (50 lbs. minimum), pushing, and pulling along with ability to move equipment and supplies on and off trucks.</li><li>Ability to follow written and verbal instructions including maintaining appropriate records as required</li><li>Support the Mission, Vision, Values and Guiding Principles of Facilities &amp; Services.</li></ul><h4>Appointment Information</h4><p>The Driver is a is 100% time position, appointed on a 12-month basis. The hourly rate for this position is $32.41 and the unit has two vacancies.
