Job Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented and efficient Central Sterile Supply Technician to join our healthcare team in LaPlata, United States. In this critical role, you will be responsible for ensuring the cleanliness, sterilization, and proper handling of medical instruments and supplies used throughout our facility.
- Clean, decontaminate, and sterilize surgical instruments and medical equipment using various sterilization methods and techniques
- Inspect medical instruments and equipment for defects or damage, and report any issues to appropriate personnel
- Assemble and package sterilized instruments and supplies for distribution to various hospital departments
- Maintain accurate records of sterilization processes, including cycle times, temperatures, and quality control measures
- Operate and maintain sterilization equipment, such as autoclaves and ultrasonic cleaners
- Ensure compliance with infection control policies and procedures
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to maintain a safe and sterile environment
- Manage inventory of sterile supplies and reorder as necessary
- Stay updated on current sterilization techniques and best practices in the field
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) certification preferred
- Previous experience in a sterile processing department or related healthcare setting is a plus
- Thorough knowledge of sterilization techniques, equipment, and infection control practices
- Familiarity with medical instruments, supplies, and terminology
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow strict protocols and procedures
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
- Good manual dexterity for handling delicate instruments
- Basic computer skills for record-keeping and inventory management
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
Shift:Noon-8:00 p.m. M-F
